Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates that feature. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not retain or record those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
We retain an email or other direct message as needed to respond. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal duty.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers automatically receive basic technical details when a visitor loads a page:
- Page-view dates and times
- The device's assigned IP address
- Browser name and version
- Operating system and device category
- Visited pages and time spent on them
- The referring site, when one is available
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. We use them with analytics services to understand traffic in aggregate, such as which resources are frequently visited and where sessions end. A browser can block cookies, although doing so may change how some site functions behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Operating, maintaining, and improving site performance
- Routing submitted searches to the selected partner
- Finding and correcting technical problems
- Measuring which resources visitors use
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not keep, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. Saginaw County guidance identifies records held by the sheriff and jail, court files governed by Michigan Court Rule 8.119, repository information maintained by Michigan State Police CJIC under MCL 28.242 and MCL 28.243, and public profiles in the Michigan Public Sex Offender Registry. Executive-agency requests may fall under the Michigan Freedom of Information Act, MCL 15.231 to 15.246. Visitor data is not compiled into consumer reports, and we are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Independent companies operate the search boxes that appear on the site. Their privacy terms, not this policy, govern information entered into those tools. Because each partner controls its retention and disclosure practices, review its policy before running a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Saginaw County offices, Michigan agencies, courts, legal-aid resources, or outside search services. Once you leave this site, the destination's privacy policy applies. Review it before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to observe activity across websites and select targeted advertising. We do not operate that cross-site tracking.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. It may be available to a limited group of recipients:
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Search partners that process a query submitted to them
- Advertising networks that serve ads on these pages
- Government or law-enforcement authorities acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for information within our control. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so we cannot promise that unauthorized access or another breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This resource is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such information, we will remove it.
Your Data Rights
Rights vary with a visitor's location. Michigan consumer protections include the Michigan Consumer Protection Act, MCL 445.901 et seq.; the Michigan Freedom of Information Act, MCL 15.231 to 15.246, governs access to nonexempt records of Michigan public bodies rather than private-site visitor data. Subject to applicable law, you may:
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Ask what personal data we hold about you
- Object to certain forms of processing
- Request deletion of your information
Updates to This Policy
This privacy policy may be revised. Any new version will be posted here with its effective date, so visitors should review the page periodically for changes.
